Fix proadband problems and boost your speed

If you’re having problems with your broadband, with intermittent drop-outs or worse, or even if you don’t think you’re having problems then there’s a new gadget from British Telecom that might interest you.
Called the iPlate, it’s a small box that you put on your master phone socket, where you plug your ADSL router or modem into. It effectively cuts off the bell wire and, while I’ve not tried it myself… yet, reviewers and many users have reported speed increases of up to 1.5Mb/sec, which could make quite a significant difference to your broadband speed.
I’m not linking to it here as, it being a currently on-sale product, those links will change over time. Just do a search for the iPlate. They cost about £10 to £14 which seems a tiddly price to pay for such a worthwhile gadget. It won’t fix every broadband problem but at this price, what do you have to lose? You can read more about it on the PC Pro website here.
