The Windows 7 Power Users Guide is a follow-on from my “Windows Vista Power Users Guide”, described by the new media editor of Windows Vista: the Official Magazine as “a really in-depth guide to Windows Vista that everyone should at least have a look at”, but has been greatly expanded from that last guide.

The new guide was recently reviewed by Digitizor.com who said “Coming to the language and illustrations, this is somewhere the book again stands unbeatable.”

The new book is aimed at everyday users, the people who use Windows at home or at work and would like to be able to get more from it and their software, but who don’t know how. It’s also a guide that IT professionals can recommend to their non-technical friends and family, as an addition to any technical support they offer themselves.

The 180 page guide contains 16 chapters including 8 glossaries. The chapters cover everything from installing Windows to finding your way around, keeping yourself and your PC safe and secure, and diagnosing and repairing problems. In addition there are 13 Step-by-Step guides with helpful images and screenshots, and information on getting started with Microsoft’s forthcoming Office 2010 software, due out next spring.

The chapters include… installing, exploring, working, searching, connecting, securing, configuring, playing, communicating, guaranteeing, maintaining, diagnosing, tweaking and upgrading.

Everything from using the Start Menu and the new Taskbar and finding and organising files and photos, to using some of the advanced, and often hidden, functionality of Windows 7 is included. It’s written in simple, easy to understand language.

There are also many Quick Tips to help you get the very best out of Windows 7 in the fastest time possible.

Winners will be picked at random and the judge’s (that’s me) decision is final.  Winners will be notified by email by October 22nd.

Good luck
